About Mr. Wils

Welcome, Whirlies! My name is Mr. Wils and I have been teaching in Guilford County Schools since 2014 and at Grimsley High School since 2017. I'm proud to be a part of a rich tradition of academic excellence here at GHS. It's truly an honor to be a Whirlie!

 

I grew up in New Bern, NC and I graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan in 2005 with my Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education. I landed my first teaching gig in Lexington, NC in 2008. In January, I am hoping to enroll at UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) through an online program for my Masters in Public Administration. 

 

I'm a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame football, and Tar Heel basketball. I'm very politically active, having been a part of several campaigns over the years, including my own when I ran for Greensboro City Council in 2017. I also enjoy anything theater related, and, when I'm able, traveling to as many spots as I can.

I married my wife, Amanda, in 2014. We live in Winston-Salem.
